ASP found dead in Mirpur

Body of an assistant superintendent of highway police was found in Mirpur area of Dhaka today.

ASP Mizanur Rahman Talukder of highway police (Savar circle) left his residence in Sector-5 of Uttara around 5:00am for his office. His body was found on the way near Birulia Bridge, Syed Shahid Alam, officer-in-charge of Rupnagar Police Station, told The Daily Star.

Police recovered his body around 11:00am, he said adding that they suspect Mijanur was strangled to death as a piece of cloth was found wrapped around his neck, the OC said.
