Arrest warrant issued against Ctg city Jamaat nayeb-e-ameer

A Chittagong court yesterday issued an arrest warrant against Nayeb-e-Ameer of Chittagong city unit Jamaat-e-Islami Md Shajahan Chowdhury in a case filed in 2013 under Special Powers and Explosives Acts.

Chittagong Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Shahenur passed the order.

According to the court sources, easy bike driver Md Musa was killed in an arson attack in Chandgaon area of the port city on March 25, 2013 during hartal hours enforced by the Jamaat-e-Islami.

Assistant Sub-inspector of Chandgaon Police Station Mehedi Hasan lodged a case with the police station accusing 15 persons, including Shajahan Chowdhury, in this connection.

On March 23 last year, Sub-inspector Sajal Kanti Dey, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted a charge sheet against 26 persons including the Jamaat leader, said Md Belal, a prosecution lawyer.
