Arms, ammo recovered from held Bogra Sramik Dal man's shop

He made confessional statement during remand

Police recovered arms, ammunition and a magazine from a shop of a Sramik Dal leader in Taluch Bazaar area of Dupchanchia upazila in Bogra early yesterday.

The recovery was as Abul Kalam, 35, president of the unpazila unit of the pro-BNP workers' organisation, made a confessional statement during a two-day remand, said police.

Kalam had been in jail custody since he was arrested on August 11 in different cases, including arms case, filed with Dupchanchia Police Station.

A Bogra court remanded him after rejecting his bail prayer on October 7, said police.

Two guns, a magazine and four bullets wrapped with polythene were found in the shop, said Gaziur Rahman, senior assistant superintendent of police (B Circle) of Bogra.
