Appeal for help

Seventeen-year-old Fazle Rabbi has been suffering from Thalassemia, a severe blood disorder, for the last 10 years, said a press release.

A resident of Uttara's Azampur area, he had to abandon his studies at the age of 11 due to his illness. His father, Aminur Islam, a small businessman, has already spent all his savings on the treatment of his son as Rabbi needed to have blood transfusion in every two months.

Now in bed, his condition is deteriorating and doctors have advised to take Rabbi to India for better treatment, which involves about Tk 10 lakh. But it is no longer possible for the family to bear the treatment cost.

In light of the dire situation, his family has made a fervent appeal to the well-off people of the society to come forward extending financial help to save Rabbi's life.
