Apollo fined Tk 5 lakh for selling counterfeit medicines

A mobile court of Rab yesterday fined the authorities of Apollo Hospitals Dhaka Tk 5 lakh for selling unapproved and counterfeit medicines and using time-expired reagent in pathological tests.

The Directorate General of Health Services and Drug Administration Department assisted the court led by Executive Magistrate Sarowar Alam, says a Rab press release. The drive was conducted following the confession of a man, Delowar Hossain, who was arrested while manufacturing such medicines in a Nikunja house on February 16. Rab found that Delowar had been supplying counterfeit and expired Indian medicines to the hospital for the last five years.
