All stakeholders should be included to assess HR situation: Speakers

All stakeholders should be included while preparing the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) report to assess the country's human rights situation, said speakers at an event yesterday.

National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in association with UNDP organised the event on “Consultation on UPR reporting under 3rd Cycle” at a hotel in the capital.

NHRC will also hold a daylong consultation with different stakeholders in Cirdap auditorium today.

Sharmeela Rassool, chief technical advisor of Human Rights Programme, UNDP Bangladesh; Sudipto Mukerjee, UNDP Bangladesh country director; Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, principal secretary of Prime Minister's Office; and NHRC Chairman Kazi Reazul Haque spoke at the event.
