AIUB welcomes freshers

The Department of English of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) yesterday celebrated spring festival and welcomed freshers through a colourful programme on its campus in the capital's Banani.

Students and faculty members of the university recited poetry written in seven different languages to pay tribute to the language martyrs ahead of the International Mother Language Day to be observed on Tuesday.

Noted poet Shamim Azad was present as the chief guest while Prof Charles C Villanueva, pro vice-chancellor of AIUB, spoke on the occasion.
