Agri-scientist Pasha passes away

Agriculture scientist Dr Md Niazuddin, popularly known as Niaz Pasha, died due to brain stroke at Dhaka Medical College Hospital early yesterday. He was 51.

He left behind his wife, a son and a daughter.

Dr Pasha suffered a serious brain stroke on December 25 and since then he was undergoing treatment in Dhaka.

He was posted as senior technical officer at Saarc Agriculture Centre in the capital's Farmgate. Earlier, he served at Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA) in Mymensingh. His body was taken to his village Limepasha under Itna upazila of Kishoreganj for burial, family sources said. He was honoured with “Joyatirmoy Kishoreganj Award” for his contribution to agriculture reporting on haor areas and its development.
