Academia School champion in IUB debate contest

Academia School of Dhaka clinched the champion title while Viqarunnisa Noon School and College became the runner-up of the inter-school debate tournament organised by Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). 

The three-day debate tournament titled “IUB Ascension 2016” concluded on the university's Bashundhara campus on Saturday, said a press release.

Around 60 teams from 28 different English and Bangla medium schools participated in the national-level competition.

IUB Vice-Chancellor Prof M Omar Rahman distributed trophies and prize money to the winner and runner-up at the closing ceremony where A Matin Chowdhury, chairman of Education, Science, Technology and Cultural Development Trust (the founding Trust of IUB) was present as the chief guest.
