77 asst judges get promotion

Seventy-seven assistant judges have been given promotion to the posts of senior assistant judges on advice from the Supreme Court.

The law ministry issued a gazette notification to this effect today asking the newly promoted judges to discharge their functions at the places where there are now posted until further order.

The new senior assistant judges will get salaries and allowances under article 13 of Bangladesh Judicial Service (Salary and Allowances) Order, 2016.

They have joined their services as assistant judges on different dates in 2014 and 2015, according to the gazette notification.
