530 gas lines disconnected

A team of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd disconnected illegal gas connections to 530 houses in Vanua area of Gazipur city yesterday.

There were over 6,500 meters illegal distribution lines of which the team with the help of Gazipur District Administration managed to remove around 500 meters, said manager of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company's Gazipur regional office Shahabuddin.

The house owners claimed that a contractor named Md Siddique Sarker along with his two sons Masudur Rahman and Mahfuzur Rahman and another contractor Kawsar on an average took Tk 50,000 for each illegal connection a few days ago.
