5-yr-old boy fatally run over by pickup

A child was killed as a pickup van ran him over in Ichakhali area of Boalmari upazila in Faridpur on Monday evening.

The deceased -- Swin Kazi, 5, son of Kazi Shajahan from Ichakhali village – was crossing a road, Mohammad Kawsar, sub-inspector of Boalmari Police Station, quoted locals as saying.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Faridpur Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Locals caught the pickup driver and handed him over to police, added the SI.
