4 killed as bus rams 3-wheeler in B'baria

Two others die in Natore road crash

Four people were killed as a Dhaka-bound Ana Paribahan bus rammed a battery-run auto-rickshaw carrying them on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Shosoi area of Bijoynagar upazila in Brahmanbaria yesterday.

One of the deceased was Chanaul Haq, 25, of Kishoreganj. He was the driver of the auto-rickshaw. The identities of other deceased could not be known immediately, said police.

Quoting witnesses, Ali Arshad, officer-in-charge of Bijaynagar Police Station, said the auto-rickshaw driver and two of its passengers died on the spot.

Another injured, a female passenger of the auto-rickshaw, was rushed to Madhobpur Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared her dead, said the OC.

Our Natore correspondent reports, a mini-truck driver and its helper were killed and two others injured as the vehicle hit another mini-truck from behind in Kanchikata Toll Plaza area of Gurudaspur upazila in Natore yesterday.

The deceased were Babu Mina, 30, driver of the mini-truck, and its helper Shamim Hossain, 35. The duo hailed from Meherpur.

The two died on the spot, said Abdullah Al Mamun, officer-in-charge of Bonpara highway police.

The injured were rushed to hospitals, said the OC.
