JMB Dhaka district unit chief, 3 others held

Rapid Action Battalion claimed to have arrested four members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) including its Dhaka district unit chief in the capital.

Huge amount of bombs, explosive substance and books and magazine on Jihad were also seized from their possession, said a Rab press release today.  

JMB unit chief Md Abdul Baten alias Khairul Islam alias Mamunul Haque, 25, and acting member Mohammad Monir Molla alias Monir, 29, from Khilgaon bus stand around 10:30pm yesterday, the release said. 

The elite force members recovered a pistol and four bullets from Baten while a carton containing 14 petrol bombs from Monir, it added.

Based on their information, Rab-3 men in a separate drive conducted around 12:30am today arrested Md Golam Kibria alias Aktar, 62, and Md Roman Khan alias Rumon, 27, from Kamalapur Railway Station.

Five improvised explosive device, one kilogramme of explosive substance and 17 petrol bombs recovered from their possession.
