No rooftop parties, public gatherings on 31st night: DMP

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today said no public gathering near roads, flyovers, open spaces or even rooftops will be allowed on the night of December 31 in a bid to heighten security centering the new year celebrations.

DMP today published a list of instructions and traffic diversions which it will enforce for December 31 in the capital.

No fireworks or parties will be allowed, DMP Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam said while briefing media on security measures ahead of the new year.

Meanwhile no outsiders will be allowed on Dhaka University campus from 6:00pm tomorrow.
