3 workers burnt in fire

Three workers are fighting for their lives with burn injuries after a fire broke out in a plastic godown in the capital's Lalbagh yesterday.

Abdul Baten, 28, Humayun Kabir, 17, and Abdul Majid, 25, are receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital with 95, 52 and 46 percent burns respectively.

The condition of the patients is critical as their respiratory tracks got burns, hospital sources said.

The fire that originated at a three-storey tin-roof warehouse around 1:30pm spread to the third floor of an adjoining building where the trio were working, said Fire Service officials.
