Homebound passengers began Eid journey through railway route today with at least 18 trains departing from the city’s Kamalapur Railway Station till this afternoon.

Among the 18 trains that left Kamlapur Railway Station by 1:00pm, three were an hour behind the schedule, Station Manager of the railway station Aminul Huq told The Daily Star.

The three trains are Khulna-bound Sundarban Express, Rangpur-bound Rangpur Express and Chilahati-bound Nilssgar Express, the station manager said.

However, Kishoreganj-bound Kishoreganj Express and Mymensingh bound Ishakha Express were also around 40 minutes delay, the passengers told The Daily Star.

Bangladesh Railway (BR) on July 29 began selling advance train tickets for Eid-ul-Azha at five different spots in Dhaka, with services being relatively smoother than previous occasions.
