‘Neo-JMB founder, 2 other militants’ held in Dhaka

Police claimed to have arrested three members of Neo-JMB including one of the founders of the banned militant outfit  in Dhaka last night.

A team of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a drive in Mohakhali area and arrested alleged Neo-JMB founder Abdus Samad alias Arif Mamu alias Ashiq and two others, according to a message to the media by the DMP.

One pistol, five bullets and 200 detonators were recovered from their possession, according to the message.

The identities of the two other arrestees could not be known immediately.

Neo-JMB is an ultra-radical offshoot of banned outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).
