A three-month-old daughter of a patient was reportedly stolen from Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) this afternoon.

The baby girl was identified as Khadija, a daughter of Nasima Begum and Bahadur of Shibchar in Madaripur.

Bahadur has been undergoing treatment for a brain tumour for two and half months in Ward No. 200 at DMCH.

Khadija’s mother alleged that an unknown woman, who had been being friendly with her in the hospital, took Khadija with her elder daughter Shorna, 9, out of the hospital on the pretext of giving new clothes.

As the siblings went outside of the hospital, the woman sent back Shorna to bring her mother around 4:00pm, Nasima said.

Khadija is missing since then, she added.

Bachchu Mia, a sub-inspector of DMCH police outpost, told The Daily Star that they were informed about the incident.
