3 ‘JMB men’ surrender in Rangpur

Three alleged members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) surrendered in Rangpur city this morning aiming to return to normal life.

Hafez Masud Rana, 18, Akhtaruzzaman, 18, and Hafizur Rahman, 16, all hailed from Dinajpur district surrendered before Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan at a programme around 11:30am.

The surrender programme was organised by Rapid Action Battalion at Shitol Auditorium in the city’s Dhap area.

Rab members gave checks of Tk 5 lakh to each of them, reports our Dinajpur correspondent.

On July 18, after Holey Artisan Bakery and Sholakia attacks in July, Rab announced reward if any activist of militant outfits returns to normal life and gives specific information about their activities.

The country has experienced a spate of militant attacks including the Holey Artisan Bakery and Sholakia attacks this year.
