3 Jamaat women arrested in Joypurhat

Three female activists of Jamaat-e-Islami were arrested while they were holding a clandestine meeting in a house in Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat yesterday, said police.

Shahnaj Begum, 35, Khatune Zannath, 25, and Tanjila Akter, 35, are members of the upazila unit Jamaat, said officer-in-charge Ashraful Islam of Panchbibi Police Station, adding that they were already sent to jail by a court.
