26 ‘militants’ held so far after Gulshan attack: Rab DG

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) so far arrested 26 militants from across the country after the Gulshan café attack took place in Dhaka on July 1, said its Director general Benazir Ahmed.

The arrestees include members of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), Neo-JMB, Ansarullah Bangla Team and Hizb-ut Tahrir.

Benazir said this while talking to the reporters during his visit at Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital around 11:30am.

Law enforcers have been working to ensure security in the country for Eid-ul-Azha keeping Holey Artisan café attack incident in mind, Rab DG said.

It’s natural for people to feel threatened after the incident he said adding that Rab members are working hard so that people can celebrate a safe, sound and joyous Eid.
