25 fishermen jailed

A mobile court jailed 25 fishermen for different terms for defying the ongoing ban on hilsa fishing in Sadarpur Upazila of Faridpur early yesterday.

The mobile court led by Sojal Chandra Shil, an executive magistrate of the district administration.

The mobile court also sized 10 mounds of hilsa and two lakh meters of fishing nets from different places in the river Padma in the upazila.
