22 illegal shops demolished

The Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) yesterday demolished some 22 shops, constructed illegally in Cheragipahar and Asadganj of Chittagong city.

Around 14 makeshift shops and a rickshaw garage were demolished in Asadganj area while seven other shops were demolished in Cheragipahar area, said CCC Executive Magistrate Sanjeeda Sharmin, who led the drive.

A generator, kept on the road, creating obstruction to vehicular movements in Cheragipahar, was also seized during the drive, the magistrate said.
