2 shot, robbed in capital

Two persons, including a bKash agent, were shot and robbed of Tk 2.25 lakh in the capital yesterday.

Muggers shot Billal Hossain, 35, proprietor of Billal Telecom and a bKash agent on road-108 in Gulshan-2, in the left arm and took Tk 2.2 lakh from him before his house on road-114, his nephew Nazrul Islam told The Daily Star

He was attacked while he was going to his shop as he refused to give them his bag containing the money, he said.

Billal was first taken to a local hospital and later shifted to Dhaka Medical Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge Sirajul Islam of Gulshan Police Station said three persons were seen in a CCTV of a nearby house. None was arrested, the OC said.

In Paltan, muggers shot a man and snatched away Tk 5,000, a gold chain and a cellphone from him.

With bullet wounds in the left leg, Iftekharul Alam Milton, 42, was admitted to the hospital, said sources at DMCH police camp.

The gang in a microbus halted Iftekharul after he got down from a bus on Culvert Road in Paltan.
