2 killed in Shyampur road crash

Two people were killed and one was injured when a speedy truck hit another stationed truck at Shyampur in Dhaka early today.

The deceased are Salam, 45 and Shamsher Ali, 50, the driver of the stationed truck. The injured has been identified as Shah Alam, said Shaikh Abdur Razzak, officer-in-charge of Shyampur Police Station.

The accident took place around 4:00am when the vehicle hit the truck that broke down on the road, leaving its driver Shamsher dead on the spot, police said quoting witnesses.

Informed, police rescued and took injured passengers Salam and Shah Alam to Dhaka Medical College Hospital(DMCH) where doctors declared Salam dead around 6:00am, the OC said.

The driver of the other truck fled the scene along with the vehicle.
