18 new HC judges take oath

A total of 18 newly appointed judges of the High Court took oath today.

Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain administered the oath at the Judges’ Lounge of the Supreme Court this afternoon.

Judges of both the Appellate and High Court Divisions of the Supreme Court were present during the oath taking ceremony.

On Wednesday, President Abdul Hamid appointed the eighteen additional judges to the HC Division of Supreme Court raising the number of the HC judges to 98.

The new HC judges are Md Abu Ahmed Jamadar, Md Mostafizur Rahman, Fatema Najib, Md Kamrul Hossain Molla, SM Kuddus Zaman, Md Atowar Rahman, SM Abdul Mobin Khizir Hayat, Shashanka Shekhar Sarkar, Mohammad Ali, Mohi Uddin Shamim, Md Riaz Uddin Khan, Md Khairul Alam, SM Moniruzzaman, Ahmed Sohel,  Sardar Md Rashed Jahangir, Khandaker Diliruzzaman and Dr K M Hafizul Alam.
