168 rescued turtles freed in park

Around 168 rare turtles which were rescued from Bropota Benapole border had been released in Bangabandhu Safari Park in Gazipur yesterday.

Police said Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Sunday rescued around 169 turtles smuggled in from India.

Later, the turtles worth Tk 8 lakh were handed over to the Department of Wildlife Conservation in Khulna. Of the turtles one was dead.
