1500 pieces of yaba found inside abandoned body in Dhaka hospital

A total of 1500 pieces of yaba tablets were found inside abandoned body of a woman in Dhaka today.

Doctors at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College found the yaba tablets in 57 packets inside the stomach of the body during autopsy, Zanea Alam Munshi, officer-in-charge of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, told The Daily Star.

Earlier on Monday, some unidentified persons brought the women at National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases. As the doctors pronounced her dead, the persons fled the scene saying that they would bring an ambulance to take the body, the OC said.

Later, the body was sent to Suhrawardy Medical College morgue for autopsy.

The police suspect that she might have died while trying to carry yaba tablets inside her body, the police official added.
