12 ‘doping gang members’ held in Dhaka

Detectives today claimed detention of 12 members of doping gangs including two ringleaders of such rackets from Dhaka today.

Six of them were held from Shahbagh around 7:45am while the others from Malibagh Rail gate area an hour later, said Monirul Islam, joint commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

Those held from Shahbagh are Md Nurul Anwar, a ring leader, Md Sujon Khan, Md Abul Bashar, Md Abul Hasan, Md Akhter Hossain and Md Abul Kalam.

Those arrested from Malibagh were ringleader Haji Md Tutul Biswas alias Shumon, Kazi Sarwar Jalam alias Netaji, Haji Md Ibrahim, Md Monir Hossain, Md Saiful Islam alias Bachchu and Md Abdul Gafur.

They were held along with passports and visas. Sanowar Hossain, additional deputy commissioner of DB police, said they were planning to rob hajj pilgrims by doping them.
