10kg gold seized from plane toilet at Dhaka airport

At least 10kg gold was seized from a toilet of an aircraft at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka this evening.

Tipped off, a team of customs officials conducted a search inside a Bangladesh Biman flight, that came in from Thailand around 7:00pm, and recovered the gold, said Rezaul Karim, assistant commissioner of customs.

The estimated value of the gold is around Tk 5.15 crore, he added.

The search was underway when last reported around 10:00pm.
