1 killed under truck wheels near Dhaka airport

A man was run over by a truck near Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka this morning.

The man was yet to be identified, but the 35-year aged was confirmed to be a van puller, according to Ezaz Shafi, officer-in-charge of Airport Police Station.

The van puller was hit from rear when he was passing through the Hangar Gate area around 5:45am, the OC said. Critically injured, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Doctors at DMCH declared him dead when he was taken there at around 7:00pm, Sub-Inspector Bachchu Miah, in-charge of DMCH police outpost told The Daily Star.

The truck driver managed to flee the scene, OC Shafi said.
