3 burned in Mugda shop fire

Three people suffered burn injures as a fire broke out at a scrap shop in Mugda area of Dhaka this afternoon.

The fire originated at the tin-shed building of Afroza enterprise in Manda area around 3:00pm, Enamul Haque, officer-in-charge of Mugda Police Station, told the Daily Star.

The injured -- shop owner Alam Hossain, 35, with 57 percent  burn, its employees Anwar, 22, with 30 percent burn and Momin, 20, with 15 percent burn – were admitted to Burn and Plastic Surgery unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, he said.

The victims said a fire suddenly broke out when they were working there, leaving them injured.

The fire might have erupted from an electric short circuit, the OC added.
