BNP forms committee for DSCC polls campaign

BNP today formed a committee to conduct election campaign for Dhaka South City Corporation polls slated for April 28.

The committee led by BNP leader ASM Hannan Shah was formed at the party’s Nayapaltan headquarters this morning. Hannan was made convener of the committee while Jubo Dal President Moazzem Hossain Alal, member secretary.

BNP chief Khaleda Zia assigned Hannan Shah to conduct the election campaign for the DSCC.

The DSCC comprises of 57 wards. Eight sub-committees have to carry election campaign at these wards and monitor polls activities on the Election Day, said Hannan Shah.

The BNP leader alleged that the EC is yet to establish a level playing field. “The Election Commission did not pay any heed to our allegations that pro-ruling party men have been obstructing our election campaign.”
