The Village of Vegetables

Barinagar, a village of Jessore, is famous for large-scale vegetable cultivation. The farmers of the village remain busy round the year, earning reputation for cultivating seasonal vegetable ahead of time. Every day, a number of vegetable-laden trucks leave its selling point, Saatmile Bazar, for different districts including Dhaka and Chittagong.  The farmers say they don't enjoy any government benefits and this is why they have to struggle with rising production costs. Still they manage to keep going only because of favourable weather, highly fertile soil and their hard work. With proper support from authorities, they will be able to produce more and sell their vegetables at lower prices.
