ELECTION IN THE AIR

In most streets and alleys the sky cannot be seen due to the campaign posters hanging from ropes. And the neighbourhoods echo of campaigners asking for votes on horn speakers. The runners almost always are seen trying to woo the voters in the three city corporations -- Dhaka South City Corporation, Dhaka North City Corporation and Chittagong City Corporation -- that go to polls on Tuesday. So far, the electioneering has been rather clean, decent and devoid of mudslinging that citizens had seen all too often in the past.
