Chinese envoy meets Roushan, talks trade

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met opposition chief and Jatiya Party leader Raushan Ershad today and discussed business cooperation between the two countries.

They also discussed different bilateral issues during the meeting at a hotel in Dhaka around 10:00am, Tajul Islam Chowdhury, opposition’s chief whip, briefed media after the meeting.

Wang Yi said to have assured the opposition leader that China never interferes in affairs of any other country and it will refrain from doing so in the future.

Wang Yi called on the opposition leader to work with in togetherness for development. 

In response to a relevant query, Tajul said “neither of the leaders discussed on the January 5 polls” through which Awami League regained power for a successive term.

The Chinese foreign minister is on a three-day tour to Bangladesh.
