Child among 3 hurt in Lalbagh bomb blast

10 detained

Three people of a family including a child were injured in a bomb blast in Lalbagh of Dhaka this afternoon.
Bappy, 27, Happy, 13, and Ripon, 6, were admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, said Mofiz Uddin Ahmed, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) of Lalbagh division.
Bappy’s right elbow has been blown off with the blast, the DC said.
Police alleged that the blast happened during making of a bomb on the third floor of a five-story building in Dhakeswari area.
On information, law enforcers rushed to the spot and detained 10 people including the three injured, the police official said.
Bappy is reported to be a Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader of New Market unit, the DC told reporters.
JCD sources however is yet to confirm his political affiliation.
