Channel 16 to go off air

The information ministry has asked the authorities concerned to take necessary actions to stop the broadcasting by ‘Channel 16’, a private television station.
Sources in the ministry told the news agency that they have already sent a letter signed by ministry’s Senior Assistant Secretary Md
Akhtaruzzaman Talukder to the home ministry, the Bangladesh
Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) and Bangladesh
Television in this connection.
The private TV channel has been airing its programmes without any extension of the terms of the broadcast since it expired on November 30 last year.
