CEC Rakib declared personal non grata in Chuadanga

BNP and its associate bodies today declared Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed persona non grata in Chuadanga, the home town of the CEC.

The opposition men also burnt an effigy of the CEC while staging demonstrations in front of the party's headquarters at Shaheed Hasan Intersection in the district town in the afternoon.

Addressing a rally there, the BNP leaders vowed to prevent him from visiting Chuadanga as he led the controversial January 5 parliamentary election.

Leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal also participated in the rally organised in support of the ongoing countrywide hartal.
