Ocean garbage can power homes

Mr Trash Wheel is a solar and water powered trash cleaner that keeps garbage from reaching the ocean and then converts it to energy, according to CNN.

So far, it has removed 1.1 million pounds of garbage from Baltimore's rivers in United States in three years including 372,000 plastic bottles, according to the CNN video report.

The quirky Mr Trash Wheel sits in Baltimore's inner harbour. 

After collection, the trash is then incinerated and in turn used to make electricity for homes in Maryland.
