Data saving solutions for Android

It’s often difficult to keep an eye on your mobile data when you’re watching video after video on Facebook or YouTube. And frankly speaking, I have trouble keeping track of my data usage given how engaging life on the internet has become – anyway, here’s three ways you can change that.

GlassWire

Price: Free (Up to $9.99)

GlassWire offers both free and subscription based models to choose from. It stays active on the notification menu, keeping track of your daily, weekly, monthly data usage. It also shows live data usage on an app-to-app basis and even notifies you whenever a new app is using data. It has the standard data capping solution and tech savvy security features too.

DataEye

Price: Free (with ads)

DataEye is a stripped down version of GlassWire. It has the same data cap feature, live app-to-app data usage counter and you can permanently stop certain apps from syncing in the background. While it does have ads and doesn't offer some of the more security oriented features of GlassWire, what it lacks in polish is made up by its simplicity.

Data saving browsers

Price: Free

If you want the real simple solution, then look no further than your built-in browser. Chrome has a simple data usage counter and a data capper built-in to the browser. Same goes for Opera, Brave, UC Browser, and others. While you won't get a lot of the more miniscule sources of your data usage, saving data starts somewhere and it starts from your browser.
