US-based Steelcase to open showroom in Dhaka

Steelcase, a 105-year-old global company offering office furniture and workspace solutions, will open its first dealer showroom in Dhaka on August 9, the second in South Asia after Sri Lanka.

The showroom will provide comprehensive workplace research, not only about the way people actually work but also how workplaces would look and feel in the future, and the latest trends from around the globe, says a press release of the company founded in the US.

Through its user-centric architecture, furniture and technology solutions, Steelcase helps create workplaces that enable a meaningful people experience while effectively optimising the use of space, it adds.

It brands include Steelcase, Coalesse, Designtex, PolyVision, Turnstone and AMQ.

Uli Gwinner, president of Steelcase Asia Pacific, said, “Bangladesh is one of the fast-growing markets in Asia and we are eagerly waiting to launch the brand here.”

“I am confident that Steelcase can help businesses in Bangladesh boost the performance of its people and organisations. With the positive economic transformation of the country in the recent years, we see immense brand potential, promise and longevity in this market,” he said.

With more than 800 dealer locations, Steelcase is a publicly traded company with fiscal 2018 revenue of $3.1 billion.
