Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate third Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner "Gangchil" on Thursday.

"The Boeing aircraft will make its maiden flight for Dubai on August 22," Tahera Khandker, deputy general manager for public relations of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, told The Daily Star.

The prime minister will inaugurate the brand new aircraft at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 11:00am, he said.

Earlier on July 25, the third Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was added to the Biman's fleet raising the number of total aircraft to 16.

In 2008, Biman signed a deal to purchase 10 planes from US aircraft manufacturer Boeing. Of these, Biman has already received four new Boeing 777-300ERs, two 737-800s, and three 787-8s Dreamliner.

Gangchil has 271 seats -- 24 business class and 247 economy class -- the business class seats can be flattened to 180 degrees straight.
