Top-rated TV channels get priority in package selection

Bangladesh’s first DTH (Direct-to-Home) service provider, unveiled its content strategy at the World Content Market conference held in Moscow recently.

Their content strategy takes into account the genre preferences of the population of the country, a press release of RealVU read.

A competitive analysis was done by the content team of RealVU and based on the result of the analysis, it was decided to focus on TV channels in Bengali, English and regional languages.

After considering all the finding of the analysis on local and top-rated international channels, the RealVU package includes Discovery Networks, Sony Corporation, Turner Broadcasting System (TBS), Indiacast, Zee Entertainment Enterprise, Star India TV network and others, the press release read.

In total, RealVU offers its subscribers 105 digital channels at an affordable price of BDT 300 per month which includes 5 HD channels. They are working to increase the number of TV channels and expanding the HD package for their mega launch, the press release read.

“We took into consideration the entertainment demand of the country while preparing our content. We, RealVU is the pioneer at obtaining broadcast permission of certain channels including the major networks such as Rishtey, Zee Bangla Cinema which haven’t been formally introduced to Bangladesh before. Also we are officially reintroducing Disney,” said Chowdhury Fahriyar, Content Manager of RealVU.

Their TV signal is available everywhere across the country and the RealVU product is available in certified trade Partners outlet in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet.

The operator was launched in April 2016 by Beximco Communications Limited, a joint venture between Beximco Holdings Limited and GS Group.
