Tigerair's special offer for travellers from Dhaka

Budget carrier Tigerair is offering special fares on the Dhaka-Singapore route exclusively for Bangladeshi passengers, to mark Singapore's golden jubilee celebrated on August 9.

The special fare, $269 plus, will be applicable only to round-trip tickets from Dhaka. Passengers can book the tickets until September 3 for travel between September 13 and November 2.

Tigerair, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, currently operates seven weekly flights to Singapore from Dhaka. With a fleet of Airbus A320-family aircraft, Tigerair connects 38 destinations across Asia.

Bangladeshi travellers can use the special offer through the airline's official website, tigerair.com or through Novoair, its general sales agent in Dhaka. The offer was launched at an event organised by Tigerair and Novoair at Radisson Blu hotel in Dhaka on Thursday.

The offer also marks the fourth anniversary of Tigerair's operations in Bangladesh.

Tigerair is a budget carrier providing low-cost air travel without compromising quality, said Teh Yikchuan, sales and marketing director of the airline.

“The special offer is introduced in appreciation of the support and response extended by our passengers in Bangladesh,” he added.

Around two lakh Bangladeshis are working in Singapore and the country is going to employ more, Civil Aviation Minister Rashed Khan Menon said at the event.

Bangladesh has immense potential in the tourism sector, he said. “We are going to organise an international tourism convention in Dhaka to attract more tourists to the country and Tigerair will help bring them in.”

Tigerair offers the most competitive and affordable fares, especially to the migrant workers from Bangladesh to Singapore, lowering the migration cost, according to Mofizur Rahman, managing director of Novoair.

“We are proud to be part of the successful operation of Tigerair in Bangladesh for the last four years.”
