Foley new CEO of Grameenphone

Canadian-born Michael Foley has been appointed as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of Grameenphone, Bangladesh's largest mobile operator.

He will replace Petter-B Furberg, who served as interim CEO since October 2016. Feley's appointment will be effective from May 26, said a press release today.

Foley, a Canadian by birth, has been with Telenor Group since 2014, most recently as the CEO of Telenor Bulgaria. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Telenor Pakistan.

He has more than 30 years of sales, marketing and operational experience in the telecom, retail and gaming sectors from both advanced and growth markets.
