Seminar on secure digital payment Thursday

A daylong seminar will be held on Thursday to create awareness about the risks of online money transactions.

CTO Forum Bangladesh in association with VISA Consolidated Support Service will organise the seminar on IT security and fraud detection at Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management in Dhaka.

The seminar will help policymakers design new rules and regulations to ensure that online payment services are carried out in a secured manner, Tapan Kanti Sarkar, president of the CTO Forum, said at a press meet at The Daily Star Centre yesterday.

Nazneen Sultana, deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank, will attend the seminar as chief guest, while TR Ramachandran, group country manager of VISA (India), will also be present.

A panel discussion will be held at the seminar where Shivakumar Sriraman, chief risk officer of VISA (India and South Asia), and other experts will be present.

The CTO Forum said the chief technology officers and heads of the card wings of banks will also participate in the seminar, while experts from VISA will give presentations on the global scenario at the seminar.

CTO Forum leaders Ijazul Haque, general secretary, Nawed Iqbal, vice president, Md Muinul Islam, treasurer, were also present at the press meet.
