Salaries, bonus paid in all factories: BGMEA

Garment owners today claimed to have completed the payments of salaries and bonus to their workers ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr.

“Hundred percent garment factory paid salaries and bonuses to their workers before Eid,” Siddiqur Rahman, president of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, claimed at a press conference.

Over three thousand factories have already paid salaries among their workers for the month of May with Eid bonus, Sidiqqur said.

Around 85 percent factories have already announced closer ahead of the Eid. The rest of the factories are expected to be closed by today, he added.

Meanwhile, hours after the press conference, over 250 RMG workers of Monde Apparels Limited blocked Mirpur road in Kalyanpur area demanding arrears ahead of Eid.
