Asia's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) has appointed Rancon Trucks and Buses Ltd as its authorised general distributor in Bangladesh.

Rancon Trucks will be responsible for the import and wholesale businesses exclusively for the Fuso brand of trucks and buses in the country.

On the occasion, the Bangladeshi company launched different bus and truck models of Fuso at a programme held at an exclusive showroom of Fuso at Tejgaon in Dhaka on Thursday.

The newly built sales unit displays different Fuso models—FA, FI and FJ of 9, 12 and 16 tonnes respectively—for its customers, Rancon Trucks said in a statement yesterday.

Fuso—a brand of Daimler Trucks, the largest manufacturer of trucks over six tonnes—also offers trucks ranging from four tonne to 65 tonne and the entire range will be strategically introduced in the market, according to the statement.

“Initially, models FA, FI, FJ, FJ (RMC), FZ along with Rosa bus and Canter will be available for customers.”

“We are excited to partner with Fuso. Together we will shape the future of transportation in Bangladesh,” said Romo Rouf Chowdhury, managing director of Rancon Trucks and Buses Ltd.

“We will be looking to establish a range of initiatives that will include the expansion of the network, range of products, and focus on pro-active customer service; which we believe will give Fuso a significant growth trajectory in the region.”

“Our core focus will be to connect, collaborate, and inspire our patrons,” Chowdhury said at the launch of Fuso trucks.

“We at Fuso are excited to contribute to Bangladesh's growth story with our high-performance trucks that feature best-in-class fuel economy, reliability and safety,” said Amit Bisht, head of regional centre Southern Asia for Daimler Commercial Vehicles Pte Ltd.

“Our new setup for this market includes a comprehensive product portfolio and pro-active customer services. In Rancon, we have found the ideal business partner to serve our Fuso customers in Bangladesh through the dedicated setup of Rancon Trucks and Buses Ltd.”

Fuso covers nearly all regions around the world such as Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East.

Shoeb Ahmed, CEO of Rancon Trucks; Moinul Islam, divisional director, and Vaibhab Gupta, head of network/training and marketing for regional centre Southern Asia of Daimler Commercial Vehicles Pte, also attended the event.

Daimler Trucks Asia is an organisational unit that jointly operates MFTBC—an icon of the Japanese commercial vehicle industry with more than 80 years of history—and Daimler India Commercial Vehicles.
